Biological sediment treatment that restores depth and water quality
Ponds and lakes naturally accumulate organic sediment rich in phosphorus, fuelling algae and poor clarity. SchlixX Plus releases oxygen for weeks to accelerate microbial digestion, while a phosphate-binding matrix locks nutrients in the sediment — cutting nutrient excess and bringing back lost depth.

Fast Facts
- Oxygen release lasts up to six weeks per application.
- One ton can remove up to 2,982 m³ of organic sediment (single application).
- Routine dosage: 500 kg/ha (SchlixX or SchlixX Plus).
- Package size: 25 kg bags (0.05 ha coverage per bag).

Digest sludge + bind phosphorus at once
SchlixX Plus couples an oxygen-releasing mineral with a proprietary beneficial and naturally occuring bacteria strains to accelerate aerobic digestion of organic sediment. Meanwhile, liberated phosphates are permanently bound in situ to prevent nutrient recycling and algae rebounds. The slow, continued oxygen release drives deeper penetration into the sediment layer for long-lasting results.
Why Plus?
- Beneficial bacteria supercharge sediment digestion.
- Greatly reduces need for disruptive, costly dredging.
- Helps control foul odours and buffers bottom pH.
- Fewer site visits, better long-term value.
SeDox Max vs SchlixX Plus
SeDox Max
- Primary: Phosphorus binding & nutrient balancing
- Use when: High reactive P / strong internal loading
- Outcome: Locks P as stable minerals, stabilises pH & DO
SchlixX Plus
- Primary: Sediment digestion & sludge reduction
- Use when: Muck/sludge depth, odours, low benthic oxygen
- Outcome: Restores depth, reduces internal P release
Application guidance
Apply evenly across the surface using a spreader boat or as a pre-mixed slurry to minimise dusting and drift.
| Product | Application Rate | Coverage | Package |
|---|---|---|---|
| SchlixX | 500 kg per hectare | 0.05 ha per 25 kg bag | 25 kg |
| SchlixX Plus | 500 kg per hectare (routine) | 0.05 ha per 25 kg bag | 25 kg |

Dobson Ranch HOA & Golf — Lake #8 (Arizona)
Site: 1 ha drainage/decorative lake with sediment accumulation and high phosphate.
Treatment: 750 kg SchlixX Plus (Nov 2022), applied as a water-mixed slurry via submerged nozzles (8-hour pass).
Results (6 months): Average sludge reduction 15.24 cm, +1,542 m³ water volume, phosphate reduction >30%
“Major reduction in chemical treatments… clearer, healthier appearance… sludge reduction added needed depth and saved time and costs.” — Pipe Irrigation Supply (Naples, FL)

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need SeDox Max or SchlixX Plus?
SeDox Max – Phosphorus Binding & Nutrient Balancing
Choose when reactive phosphorus or internal loading is your main issue. SeDox Max creates conditions for stable apatite minerals that permanently bind phosphorus, while elevating DO and stabilising pH across the water column and sediment interface.
- Immobilises reactive phosphorus
- Balances the nitrogen cycle
- Boosts DO and stabilises pH
- Enhances microbial activity at the sediment layer
SchlixX Plus – Sediment Digestion & Organic Matter Reduction
Choose when accumulated organic sludge/muck and odours are the primary problems. Oxygen release at the benthic layer and beneficial bacteria accelerate aerobic digestion, balance pH, and reduce internal P release.
- Breaks down accumulated organic sediment
- Restores benthic oxygen, reduces odours
- Reduces internal phosphorus loading
- Improves nitrogen cycling and overall ecosystem health
Many sites benefit from a combined plan: SeDox Max to lock phosphorus + SchlixX Plus to reduce organic muck.
